Who Will Walk the Dog?
Now that we are living in an apartment my kids have something new to fight about every day and that’s: Who’s turn is it to walk the dog?
Our dog is just 9 lbs, so when we lived in our house I didn’t take her for an official walk everyday. We’d let her out and she’d give herself a little walk around our back yard. Now that we won’t have a yard for a few months, I feel we at least owe her a walk everyday. We’ve been going on our walks after school. I thought this would be fun for all of us until I realized that this was yet another competition, something else to fight over. . . CONTROL OF THE LEASH!
I tried having them split the duty, one walks the dog to the grassy area and the other child walks her home. This plan is not going so well. We might have to move to an every other day plan, kind of like what we are doing for the removal of the sticker on the Christmas calendar.
I guess having a sibling ultimately teaches one to share, but we’re not there yet!
