What a Night for Jennifer Hudson!
For me, the Golden Globe Awards were actually pretty uneventful last night, but I bet that’s not what Jennifer Hudson is saying!
Wow! What a story she will have to tell her grandchildren. A finalist on American Idol (not voted through to the final round but then brought back as a wildcard), the role of a lifetime in Dreamgirls (she beat out hundreds of professional singers and actresses including American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino) and now a Golden Globe– what’s next? Possibly an Academy Award nomination?
I loved Dreamgirls and Hudson was amazing, but what I really love is that Dreamgirls cast some big names– Beyonce Knowles, Jamie Foxx, but it was the supporting actors that took home the awards last night, Hudson and Eddie Murphy.
In other Golden Globe news, Forest Whitaker was literally at a loss of word when he accepted his best actor award for The Last King of Scotland. He made up for some time since Warren Beatty was definetly not at a loss for words when he accepted his Cecil B. DeMille lifetime award.
On the television side, my fav Grey’s Anatomy took home Best Series, Drama and Ugly Betty was the big winner on the comedy side taking home Best Series, Comedy or Musical in addition to a Best Actress award for America Ferrera (Betty). What a cute show and America Ferrera was so touched my her award.
And finally, we must discuss the dresses! Lots of white gowns (check out all 18 of them!). I thought Drew Barrymore looked great (hers was actually light pink I believe!).
