Try Making a Game out of it…
The kids are about to be home for the Summer. Are you wondering how you will entertain them or maybe how you will prevent them from fighting? Well, maybe you could have a few games up your sleeve.
I saw this cute article on Parents.com called “Good Behavior Games.” The article is geared towards preschoolers, but I think even elementary children would enjoy some of these simple games– all with a purpose!
Here’s my favorite one: The Same-Time Game. This game teaches that interrupting is rude (like when mom’s on the phone!). You have your children think of things you can do at the same time (i.e. clap while singing) and things you can’t do at the same time (i.e. stand up and sit down). You and your kids can take turns and have everyone come up with a few ideas. If you are lucky, maybe they will get the idea!
There are several other game ideas in the article. Check it out!
