Total Mom Makeover (Book Review)

book jacketAs promised earlier this week, here’s a complete review of Total Mom Makeover by Hannah Keeley.

This is a must read for every mom! What a great motivator for moms! I promise that you will feel energized and excited about life after reading this book.

Keeley is a mom and really understands the issues we all face and struggle with. The book is all about living your life. She teaches you through “homework” exercises how to visualize what you want out of life, what type of mom you want to be, what type of wife, etc. and then she shows you how to make it happen.

It’s a super-easy read and is broken down into sections allowing you to complete the “makeover” in just six weeks. She focuses on four key areas:

  • Home - This section includes good organization and multi-tasking tips to make cleaning easier and keep your home clutter free. Life is about living, not about cleaning! What mom doesn’t like that?
  • Health - Keeley gives great tips on how to stay fit simply by being more active. She’s not about joining an expensive gym and spending two hours a day working out. She teaches you how to become more fit without using up so much precious time. She also gives great nutritional tips
  • Family - This is what it’s all about moms! A “made over” mom, actually has time to enjoy her family, play games with her kids and have a healthy, satisfying relationship with her husband.
  • Life - You owe it to yourself and your family to live life to its fullest. Don’t let all the “stuff” you have to do get in your way of enjoying and experiencing life! In the book, Keeley really shows you how to accomplish this.

One of my key take-aways from this book is to get up before everyone else in my family. I have always been a morning person, but, unfortunately, my kids are too. When they were toddlers, I’d get up at 6:00 a.m. and they’d get up at 6:05 a.m. After a few weeks of this, I gave up and starting sleeping until 7:00 a.m., so they would too! Now that they are getting older, I can actually catch about 30 minutes of alone time in the morning if I rise before 6:30 a.m. It’s not always easy, but once I’m up, I can get more done in those 30 minutes than I do the rest of the day! Plus, when they wake up I feel happy because I’m organized rather than stressed and frustrated.

Let us know what you think of the book if you pick up a copy.
