Tip of the Week: Disney Vacation Planning Kit

I recently started researching a Disney World vacation for my family and my first stop was the Walt Disney World web site. I ordered the free vacation planning kit (you can also view this online) and actually found it quite helpful.

The kit includes a vacation planning DVD and a CD-Rom as well. I spent about 40 minutes watching the DVD. The information on the Disney parks was kind of one big cheesey Disney commercial.  But, what I found very helpful was the resort information. The DVD breaks the resorts down into three categories (deluxe, moderate and value) and then allows you to pick and choose which ones you want to “walk through.” It really gave me a good idea of the type of resort category I’d like to consider and then which specific resorts I liked best within a category.

If you are like me, and you haven’t been to Disney in 15 years, the vacation planning kit is an easy way to get familiar with what the parks and properties have to offer.
