SharpMoms Beware: MySpace
If you don’t know about MySpace you need to, especially if you have a child over the age of 10. MySpace is the largest social networking site in the country and it makes it easy for people to post and share personal information and pictures. It also makes it easy for people to fabricate their information, i.e. the “15-year-old guy” chatting with your daughter is really 42!
The June issue of PC Magazine (my husband’s in case you were wondering) had an interesting article that talked about MySpace and about Internet safety as it relates to children. Here’s the article’s message to us SharpMoms in a nutshell:
“We need to teach our children that the Internet is like a very large city. There are lots of good things, some bad things, and a few very bad people.”
