Rosie at War with “The Donald”
Well, it was a bad week for me to miss out on The View. I sure do miss my friend TiVo, which was the only way I could ever catch my favorite shows. We have a new set up here in our temporary housing that I haven’t quite figured out yet.
Anyhow, the feud between Rosie O’Donnell and Donald Trump is the top news story of the week. Wednesday, on The View, Rosie had some harsh words for Trump regarding his near firing of Miss USA Tara Conner. Apparently Conner has had substance abuse issues and failed to make some Miss USA promotional appearances. Trump owns the Miss Universe organization which includes Miss USA. He said that Conner could keep her title if she “settled down and entered alcohol rehab.”
The battled started when Rosie said Trump had no right to be a “moral compass” for the beauty queen and then she went on to make a few character remarks regarding his divorces, bankruptcy, etc. Trump fired back calling Rosie “unattractive,” “fat” and “a loser” among other nasty comments.
Well now! It’s hard to judge since I’m only seeing clips on the news, but you know I’m a big Rosie fan and have never been a huge Trump fan. I think Trump took this a little too far. He could have easily taken the “bigger man” approach, but instead he came back with very personal insults. It’s all so childish. I’m sure mama Barbara (Walters) will put a stop to this!
