Mommy Needs A Play Date!
Becoming a new mom is a full time job. And, I’m here to tell you, as the kids grow up, the job doesn’t get any easier or any less demanding. You might start getting a little more sleep though!
As all us moms know, we do get back what we put into the job. It might not be a paycheck, but smiles, hugs and kisses are worth a lot more!
The most important thing for any mom, but especially a new mom, is finding some time for mommy. This “time out” for mom, just might enable you to survive the rest of the day with a pleasant look on your face.
Mommy needs play dates too! Here are a couple of ways to make that happen:
- New Mommy? Okay, you don’t have much time on your hands, but how about a 15 minute hot bath and a mindless magazine? Trust me; the laundry will still be there when you are done.
- Toddler Mommy? You are busy running after speedy tots, but they can survive without you for a couple of hours. Schedule lunch with a friend, go see a movie or just go shopping. Can’t afford a sitter? Swap babysitting hours with a friend, ask grandma for help or check into a mother’s day out program.
- Experienced Mommy? Your kids are busy with school, so you can consider taking on a real hobby. Tennis, yoga or maybe photography classes. The sky’s the limit.
Of course, your children need you, but they need you to be your best. Everyone needs a break and it will make you a better mom if you take some time for you.
The hot bath is running. I gotta go!
