Homework, Homework, Homework! How Much is too Much? (New Poll)

I hear horror stories about how much time kids are spending on homework. My babysitter is in high school at a private Christian school and she says she spends several hours every night (and on the weekend too) doing homework. Wow! How is there anytime left to be a kid?
My daughter is in first grade and she has 15 minutes of reading each night. The teacher sends home books each week and we just account for what we’ve read on a reading log. She also has a spelling list of 15 words to learn each week, plus a special project every now and then. It’s very manageable right now, but this is first grade and she’s my only child in elementary school.
I’d like to hear about your homework experiences. How many minutes/hours each night do your kids have? Do they do it or do you have to beg them? Do they need a lot of help? Please enter your comments and let us know. And, be sure to vote in our new poll (to the right).
How much time do your kids spend on homework each night?
- Less than 30 minutes
- 30 minutes - 1 hour
- 1 -2 hours

I’m looking forward to your results!!
