FlexJobs.com: When “Too Good to be True” Gets Too Good to Pass Up

Work at Home MomIf you have children in your life, then you probably are familiar with the conflicting sensations of knowing that you absolutely must get to work on time and the desire to take a “sick day” so you can stay home and eat breakfast with them, answer all their questions and just spend the day enjoying them while they are small. It’s not unreasonable, after all, kids who are guided by their parents while they are young and who have frequent if not nearly constant access to one or both parents during childhood tend to form stronger bonds with their parents as they age and respond better to advice and discipline during the potentially difficult teenage years.

However, if you are not working, then there may simply be some practical things you have to forego, and for many families, those things are necessities like food, shelter, clothing and a good education. If you are torn between your job, which helps you provide your family with all the things that make them happy and keep them healthy, and spending time with that same family, then FlexJobs.com may have the answer for you. FlexJobs.com is not just a website. It is a subscription-based service that enables working parents to put their skills to work from home in telecommuting or home-based business oriented jobs. When you join FlexJobs.com, you will be able to set up a profile and search through their incredible database of available, verified and legitimate job opportunities, all of which are designed specifically for parents who want to work from home.

FlexJobs.com commits to adding 200 new positions every week, and each position comes either from screened employers who have met stringent requirements repeatedly or via staff-verified searches of other websites like Craigslist and online classifieds in newspapers across the country.

If you have ever searched for telecommuting or work-from-home jobs before, you are probably aware of the immense volume of false advertisements and fake promises that permeates this particular classifieds market. Not only are many people just out to make a quick buck off people who want to work from home or to collect and sell their information, but many of the opportunities that do appear to be legitimate can actually end up crashing your computer and even destroying your hard drive with rampant spyware.

FlexJobs.com was started by a mother who understands exactly how frustrating finding good, reliable, legitimate work that can be done from home on flexible hours can be. Sara Sutton Fells, now the CEO of the company, and her entire staff are all telecommuters who work from home, love their families, believe that it is vitally important to find a healthy work-life balance and value green living. Every job that appears on the site’s listings has been screened and verified as a real, solid job backed by a real, solid employer.

Furthermore, since FlexJobs.com is supported by the subscription fees – which are minimal – paid by its members, there is no advertising of any kind on the site. As a result, FlexJobs.com has no conflict of interest when it comes to providing job information and can dedicate itself solely to providing the best information possible about the best telecommuting jobs on the market today. Even better, since FlexJobs.com does not get referral fees from employers, you can contact potential employers via your FlexJobs.com profile or by phone, email or fax – whatever you are most comfortable with.

It is literally impossible to find a single user who has something negative to say about FlexJobs.com, and unlike many services that have great testimonials on their websites but about which you can find very little outside of their own domain, FlexJobs.com has fans all over the web. Everywhere, people are praising this service, even going so far as to call it the source for “the most professional, legitimate flexible job opportunities on the web today” (06-08 The Telecommuting Journal).

If you want to start working from home or are interested in learning more about legitimate work-from-home opportunities, you really cannot risk your computer’s wellbeing or your own time sifting through the massive amounts of “spam” jobs that clutter up the telecommuting genre. Instead, use FlexJobs.com to find a job that is perfect for you, then get to work and get started enjoying your family and yourself.

Thanks Katie for the post! I agree with you that FlexJobs is a legitimate site that offers real jobs to those thinking/serious about telecommuting. I am making the transition because my hours were cut. I call it a blessing in disguise because it will allow me to do what I’ve wanted for a very long time.

Used the coupon. Love it! :)
