Did You Survive Black Friday?
I did. It turns out not many people are thinking about moving on Black Friday. I shopped for boxes and a storage unit and I was actually the only person in line. Imagine that? As I’ve mentioned, our home sold in only nine days (a mixed blessing), so we are scheduled to move two weeks before Christmas. Yikes! Life is a little hectic.
After box shopping, I did hit a couple of retail stores and didn’t find the crowds to be too overwhelming. And, two of my stops included Toys “R” Us and Target! Those places can be nuts on a regular weekend!
The two craziest Black Friday ads for me were JCPenney’s 5:00 a.m. opening, and even worse, CompUSA opening on Thanksgiving at 9:00 p.m. We drove by the store on our way home from Thanksgiving dinner at about 8:00 p.m. and there were at least 20 people in line waiting for the store to open. I can honestly say I’ve never bought anything at CompUSA, so that one really puzzles me.
