Charlotte’s Web (SharpMom Movie Review)

Charlotte's Web

To celebrate school being out for the holidays, my sister, sister-in-law and I took all the kids to see Charlotte’s Web last Friday. What a great family film! Everyone loved it and we had boys and girls ranging in age from 3 to 11-years-old with us (plus 3 moms that loved it too). Julia Roberts was the perfect Charlotte and of course the adorable Dakota Fanning was awesome.

We had two concerns prior to seeing the film. We were worried the 3-year-olds would lose interest since it wasn’t animated, but they didn’t. The animals were so cute and funny and the film moved along so well that they never had a chance to get bored. And, we were afraid the kids would get sad and/or cry when Charlotte died. But, that wasn’t an issue either. I guess we just don’t have very sensitive children! Well, actually, you barely had time to mourn Charlotte because you were too busy rejoicing in her new babies!

I won’t go into a full recap of the story, because I think we all know it. If you have time over the holidays, you should check it out. I enjoyed it more than most of the kid flicks I’ve seen lately! And, what did Rotten Tomatoes have to say about it, 7.2/10. I think that’s about a point too low, but not bad!
