Beachside Book Review #3

True BelieverWith the kids home for the summer and so much free time on my hands, I’m just zipping through my beachside books. Well, all kidding aside, the kids wear me down so much during the day that sitting down at night and reading a book takes less energy than cleaning up the house!

I’m back to Nicholas Sparks again. Like I said, he’s one of my favorites. This time I chose a more recent one, True Believer. I really enjoyed it–it was the best summer read so far.

The story goes like this: Charming and divorced big city journalist, Jeremy Marsh, visits small town America, Boone Creek, North Carolina, to investigate ghosts that haunt the local cemetery. While researching the history of the cemetery and the town, he meets the local librarian, Lexie Darnell, and sparks begin to fly between the two.

Can this relationship ever work? Well, there’s a sequel called At First Sight, so we’ll have to wait and see.

True Believer was a fun, clever, romantic book filled with lots of southern charm. I’m looking forward to the sequel. Stay tuned! I just started a new Mary Higgins Clark book, but At First Sight is next on my list.
