A “Smart” Children’s Video (Tip of the Week)
I always feel guilty when I hear parents say how their children don’t watch any TV. I love TV, so it’s really only natural that my children would too! I definetly set limits and monitor what they are watching, but they are learning from TV. The best example is actually a DVD from Leap Frog called Letter Factory.
My sister-in-law told me about this DVD last year. I started having my son watch it (when he was 3) and then discovered that my daughter was watching it at Kindergarten! My 3-year-old niece has a copy too. And, all of these kids, under 4-years-old, have learned their letters and sounds.
It’s a really cute video and a great learning tool too. We also have Talking Word Factory, which my kids enjoy. Leap Frog makes a few others too that didn’t get as good of ratings online, so I’ve never checked them out. Let us know if you have!
