There’s Nothing Like a Nice, Cold Drink…

milkshakeBut stop yourself! Don’t do it! Resist the Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino Blended Creme with Whipped Cream (wow! that’s a mouthful!) and save yourself 580 calories, 22g of fat and 65g of sugar!

Frappuccinos and any kind of milkshake are my favorite summer treats, but I saw a post this morning on Hungry Girl that gave all the scary scoop on the calorie and fat content of some of our favorite, yummy drinks!

Try to save these as special treats for yourself or share one with a friend and share the calories too! Take a look at the post, “Gulp! HG’s Summer Sips Shockers” and be informed!!

Also, keep in mind that there are low-cal versions of many of these drinks and you can always eliminate the whipped cream! Starbucks offers an Orange Mocha Frappuccino Light blended coffee that’s only 150 calories and 1g of fat.

3 Easy Steps to a Better Body (Tip of the Week)

My friend gave me a quick work out tip. We all get busy and it’s so hard to find time to work out. It’s all about TIME, but what if we could work out fast and effectively? Sign me up! Okay, here’s the 3-step plan:

Think 25…

  • 25 crunches
  • 25 push ups
  • 25 squats

This is a workout targeting three of the main areas of your body: core, arms and legs, and it can be accomplished in less than 15 minutes. Too easy for you, try 50 of each. Make sure you squat as low as you can, like you are sitting down in a chair. I’ve heard that just one “boy” push up is better than 10 “girl” push ups, but just do what works for you.

Now, this isn’t to say you should cancel your gym membership or skip your morning jog, but in a pinch, this will do for sure! Give it a try and let us know what you think.
