What is Your Favorite Daytime Talk Show? (Poll Results)
October 26, 2006
My main take-away from the last weekly poll, What is Your Favorite Daytime Talk Show?, is that moms don’t have time for daytime TV. And, I can understand this. If I didn’t have a TiVo, I’d never see any daytime TV. In fact, since I’ve been out of college, the only times I’ve caught daytime TV live was while feeding my newborn babies and when I was home sick from work. It’s really too bad because a great deal of the topics on daytime talk shows are geared towards moms in their 30s and 40s.
That said, The View and Oprah tied for first place with 28.6% (each) of your votes. (And, I’m sure these results are very official since thousands of you voted in the poll!) These were my top two picks, so that just goes to show I know good TV! Ellen came in third place followed by Regis and Kelly and Dr. Phil.
Watch out for a new poll coming later this week and this time VOTE! Let your voice be heard!
Children Stop at Nothing to Get What They Want
October 26, 2006
Well, that was the case in Wisconsin this past weekend when a 3-year-old ended up trapped in a vending machine.
Robert Moore’s grandma gave him and each of his three siblings $1 to play in a retailer’s game room. After unsuccessfully attempting to “fish” for a Sponge Bob stuffed animal, Robert squeezed through an opening in the machine and landed in the stuffed animal cube. The store employees were not able to find a key to the machine, so the local fire department was called to the rescue. Luckily, the boy was removed and went home safe.
If you haven’t ever played this game before, it is an addictive one. We recently gave each of our kids $1 and my daughter caught a cute stuffed turtle on her first try. We then went through about $3 additional dollars and never caught anything for little brother! But, I’m proud to say, we just walked away (with our now $5 turtle). Nobody ended up in the machine!
